Slow and Blow Pirates Flash Game Review

Link: Slow and Blow Pirates
Developer: PegasGames
Genre: Physics/Puzzle
FlashMush Rating: 5.5/10

Decided to review another PegasGames game for today although I know I just recently reviewed a players pack of one of their games; Brave Kings. In fact Slow and Blow Pirates and the Brave Kings series is not all that different from one another.

Whereas in Brave Kings it was more of a launcher/catapult physics puzzle game a la Angry Birds, Slow and Blow Pirates is the other huge genre of physics puzzle games. Explosions. Place bombs places and hope to blow off the pirates off the platforms to win. Most of the pros and cons of Slow and Blow Pirates is going to be the same as what I outlined in Brave Kings. The graphics are excellent and I really like the physics engine they use. I really do think it's one of the best out there (for this type of game, still love the engine used in the City Siege series).

A large complaint that I have and from reading the comments on Kongregate is you are only getting essentially half the content. The other half is pay to play... A huge turn off for me. Unless it's a mobile app I really don't think online flash games should have to be bought. In all actuality I don't even think mobile app games should have to be bought but that's a whole 'nother story.

So overall Slow and Blow Pirates is nothing really special but if you're a fan of the genre then give it a shot. But also be warned...if you want to play the majority of it, you have to pay...

  1. Agree with Kingmush and Heaven, flash games and pay to play don't mix. I suppose those in-game shops are okay, but even then that's pushing it.
