Another puzzle platform game! I just love them! Well...not necessarily, they are just everywhere. I do enjoy playing them though. Ninja Bear is the latest to hit the web and well..it has loads of promise.
The idea of Ninja Bear is not new and reminds me of Death Office in the fact that you have different "weapons" to get rid of your enemies. Of course Ninja Bear features cute teddy bears. Even though the umbrella idea may not be unique (although honestly what is these days), the way it utilizes the items and environment is very clever. Some of the items you have at your disposal include ninja stars, hammers, freeze rays, bouncy goop, and fire balls. Each has special physical properties which you can use to manipulate the levels around you to complete the goal.
In terms of easiness, Ninja Bear at first seems quite easy and you breeze through levels like a hot knife through butter. You then realize that there is 40 levels and you're not even half way done. That being said, Ninja Bear will keep you occupied for a while. Furthermore, Ninja Bear is just a very visually appealing game but I do not expect any less from Rob Almighty. The music is also very fitting with the subject matter and creates a nice sense of atmosphere.
Overall Ninja Bear, while certainly not a unique concept, does take the foundation of the genre and makes it it's own and well...owns it!
