Play Mobile Games on Your Television with MHL

MHL link cable

Mobile games are quite fun and have their advantages. They are extremely addicting, as my site has shown, and well...they are quite mobile. However, they do have some disadvantages. The main disadvantage is the relatively limited power and especially small screen size. What if I told you there was a way to play these mobile Android and app games on your TV instead of just your small handheld mobile device.

Well I am here to say there is, I recently came across MHL, which stands for Mobile High-Definition Link. MHL is simply a link cable to connect your mobile device either directly to a TV which has MHL inputs or to an HDMI cable and then into a TV which has HDMI inputs. This allows for the image on your mobile device to be mirrored on your TV, what is even better is that the MHL link cable actually charges your phone! If you're wondering if your phone or mobile device already has MHL capabilities you should feel excited that by the end of 2012 over 200 million devices will be MHL compatible although currently Apple products like the Iphone 4s and Iphone 5 are not compatible.

Developers are jumping at this opportunity to have their games portrayed in this new medium as it allows for much better picture and sound quality. MHL's home site was launched a few days ago and already has a list of 15 Android mobile games from high quality app developers. These include games from Big Fish Games like Atlantis Sky Patrol and Enigmatis, The Tiny Bang Story by Herocraft, Puzzle 2 and Panic Flight by AMA, and Townsmen and Farm Invasion from Handygames as well as many more games to keep coming out!

Time is exciting for Mobile High-Defintion Links and I feel it will easily become the new hot and hip thing. So if you're a developer, check MHL out and get some of your games approved and if you're a customer, try it out! MHL cables are very cheap and can provide high quality entertainment to your friends and family!

While you're here, check out this infographic by MHL which outlines their market and how much time people spend playing mobile games!
